Likewise for this listing, 5,000 consultants were surveyed to gauge large consulting firms based on their work environment, culture, pay, leadership and prestige. Firms on this list include BCG and Bain.
Vault – Best Boutique Consulting Firms 
Based on employee surveys, Vault ranks the best boutique consultancies in which to work. The ranking is weighted by: culture, satisfaction, work/life balance, ability to challenge, compensation, outlook and promotion. Such firms as Insight Sourcing Group and The Brattle Group are listed.
Vault – The Most Prestigious Consulting Firms 
Vault uses a peer survey to rank the perceived prestige of consultancies across North America. Such firms as McKinsey, Bain and Deloitte are included in the list.
Most consultancy ranking publications aim to update their lists periodically and even yearly.
