  • Design and hand code html for email/e-newsletter blasts

Skills:

IT Systems Engineer

InfoDesk has an immediate opening for a savvy IT computer engineer. Work with our team to help build out and maintain computer networks and systems that run our evolving Java applications. Applicants must have a good grasp of Linux operating systems, and fundamental understanding of computer networks. We are looking for candidates that are energetic and hungry for learning new & exciting technologies.

  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of our technology operations

Skills:

Cloud Operations Engineer

We seek a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our growing Information Technology team. In this hands on role you will drive the design, deployment, monitoring and support of our cloud hosting environment including auto-scaling, continuous integration and release engineering, infrastructure hardening, and compliance adherence. We use entirely Linux servers to run our java based applications. You have the skills and abilities to deploy and manage SaaS applications running on public and private Cloud environments, and you will be a key contributor to realizing our Cloud related business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Information Services, you will be based in Tarrytown, NY. As an individual contributor focusing on building and supporting a world-class cloud infrastructure, you will:

  • Be the team lead in migration of key services from our colocations to AWS
  • Build and manage a fully automated, highly elastic infrastructure utilizing AWS, and by leveraging third generation deployment automation and configuration management frameworks such as Chef
  • Ensure high availability and 24x7 monitoring
  • Diagnose network performance issues and design and implement performance improvements
  • Work closely with Development teams to maintain staging and production environments to meet uptime, performance, cost and security goals
  • Develop and support auto-scaling solutions to maximize efficiency and performance
  • Help troubleshoot application errors and performance issues
  • Develop scripts to support highly effective continuous integration technologies and processes
  • Continually improve operational processes and procedures
  • Be the technology leader in server hardening, patching, and security
  • Provide after hours, on-call and escalation support of InfoDesk's 24x7 cloud hosting environment, including system outages and incident response
  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, participate in engineering activities to ensure consistently high levels of quality and productivity, and provide timely and accurate estimates for deliverables
  • Adhere to change management and maintenance policies and schedules
  • Create training documentation and take part in the team’s cross-training program
  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and automation techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of our technology operations

Skills:

  • 7 or more years of relevant professional experience in IT development, networking, system administration, and IT operations; must have experience in continuous integration and build/release/production deployments in large cloud/Saas environments
  • 2+ years of experience migrating from colocation to AWS
  • 3+ years of overall Cloud System Administration experience with AWS
  • In-depth knowledge of Centos/Redhat and FreeBSD operating systems
  • 5+ years of experience managing firewalls and networks in a secure IPSEC, or VPN enabled environment
  • 5+ years of experience writing complex scripts using Perl, Shell or Python for software automation

Nice to Have:

  • Administration experience in PostgreSQL
  • Working knowledge of ZFS, NFS and LVM
